DESCRIPTION
Built-in red sandstone, Qutub Minar is an absolute masterpiece of Mughal Islamic craftsmanship. It is arguably the most significant monument of the Delhi Sultanate. The reason behind the building of Qutub Minar was the victory of the Ghurid Dynasty emperor Qutub-ud-Din Aibek over the last Hindu ruler Rajput Prithviraj Chauhan of Delhi.
The construction of Qutub Minar took 28 years to complete and is the tallest brick tower globally, with a height of 73 meters.
Now the Qutub Minar is a popular tourist attraction site in India, and UNESCO has declared it as one of the World Heritage Sites.
